Pablo Gomez hefur getið sér gott orð sem frumlegur, sérstakur og óhefðbundinn gítarleikari. Hann fæst jafnt við hin klassísku 20. aldar gítarverk sem og nýja tónlist sem er skrifuð fyrir hann, bæði af mexíkóskum og alþjóðlegum tónskáldum.
Efnisskrár hans innihalda einleiksverk, verk með rafhljóðum, dúetta með söng og öðrum hljóðfærum ásamt konsertum fyrir gítar og kammerhóp eða hljómsveit. Hann hefur haldið tónleika í Bandaríkjunum, Svíþjóð, Frakklandi, Þýskalandi, Austurríki, Spáni, Kanada, Chile, Venesúela, Argentínu og nokkrum borgum í Mexíkó.
Hann hefur komið fram sem einleikari með Las Americas Kammersveitinni, Fílharmóníuhljómsveit Mexíkóborgar, hljómsveit háskólans í Cincinnati, Carlos Chavez hljómsveitinni og the Chamber Orchestra of Fine Arts í Mexíkóborg. Hann hefur leikið með ýmsum kammerhópum, s.s. Contemporary Ensemble of Montreal, Kore Ensemble frá Kanada, Ibero-American hópnum í Madrid, the Latin American Quartet og Onix. Hann hefur komið fram á fjölda tónlistarhátíða, m.a. Ferienkurse für Neue Musik Darmstadt 1994, 1996 og 2002.
Pablo Gomez Lærði fyrst hjá Geraldo Carrillo við School Pilot Intruduction to Music and Dance. Þá fór hann í þjóðartónlistarskólann við háskólann í Mexíkó (UNAM) þar sem hann útskrifaðist með láði. Kennari hans þar var Federico Bañuelos. Með stuðningi frá Mexíkóska menningar- og listasjóðnum (FONCA) sótti hann tveggja ára nám í samtímatónlist í Stokkhólmi þar sem Magnus Andersson var kennari hans. Pablo Gómez gaf út geisladiskinn Tañendo Recio hjá útgáfufyrirtækinu Quindecim, en hann hefur þar að auki tekið þátt í fjölda hljóðritana.
Hann kennir nú við UNAM tónlistarskólann og leggur jafnframt stund á meistaranám við háskólann í Kaliforníu í San Diego.

Original, distinctive, and unconventional, Pablo Gómez’s guitar is one of the most remarkable sounds of today””””s music scene.
Decidedly different and away from all conventions, his repertoire includes various aesthetic tendencies: from classics of the twentieth century and contemporary pieces to works written expressly for him by renowned Mexican and international composers.
His repertoire includes solo guitar; electro-acoustic music; duets with vocalist, percussion, and violin; and concerts with chamber ensembles and orchestras. This a musical diversity that has taken him to performances in concerts in the United States, Sweden, France, Germany, Austria, Spain , Canada, Latin America Chile, Venezuela, Argentina, and in several cities in Mexico.
He has been soloist with the Las Americas Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico City, the Orchestra of the University of Cincinnati, Carlos Chavez Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Fine Arts in Mexico City to name a few and has participated in various ensembles: The Contemporary Ensemble of Montreal and the Kore Ensemble of Canada, the Ibero-American Ensemble of Madrid, the Latin American Quartet, and Onix.
He has performed in the Cervantino Festivals, and those of the Historical Center, Mexico’s National School of Music, Morelia International as well as other dedicated to new music, including the Ferien Kurse für Neue Musik (1994, 1996, 2002) Darmsatadt, the Manuel Enriquez New Music Forum, the V Search Event in San Diego, and the Festival A Tempo in Caracas and Paris, among others.
Pablo Gómez began his musical studies at the School Pilot Introduction to Music and Dance with maestro Gerardo Carrillo. He received his professional education at the National School of Music at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) where he graduated with honors under the tutelage of maestro Federico Bañuelos.
With the support of Mexico’s National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA), he attended a two-year specialization program in contemporary music in Stockholm, Sweden, with Magnus Andersson as his instructor. He produced a CD Tañendo Recio, under the Quindecim label and has participated in various other professional recordings.
He currently teaches at UNAM’s National School of Music and is pursuing a graduate degree at the University of California at San Diego.
