Tónlist og hljóðheimur endurreisnarinnar og barokksins eru í sérstöku uppáhaldi hjá Ercole Nisini. Hann leikur á hljóðfæri þessa tíma, eða endurgerðir þeirra, ásamt því að notast sem mest við upprunaheimildir tónlistarinnar. Á þennan hátt rannsakar hann og endurskapar tæknina við básúnuleik fortíðarinnar.
Síðan 2004 hefur hann leitt sveit sína, Instrumenta Musica, sem flytur bæði hljóðfæratónlist og söngtónlist frá síðari hluta endurreisnar og upphafi barokks.
Ercole hefur í tengslum við starf sitt með sveitinni leitt ýmis námskeið og rannsóknir á tónlist fyrri alda. Hann hefur auk þess komið fram víða um lönd sem einleikari og með ýmsum hópum, t.d. La Petite Bande, Marini Consort Innsbruck, Capriccio Stravagante, Weser Renaissance Bremen, Musica Fiata og Oltremontano.
Ercole hefur sent frá sér ýmsa geisladiska. Sá nýjasti, „In Dulci Jubilo” gefinn út af Querstand útgáfunni, inniheldur saxneska jólatónlist frá lokum endurreisnar og hefur hlotið lof hlustenda og gagnrýnenda. Næst mun hann takast á við það viðamikla verkefni að gera einleiksbásúnunni skil allt frá endurreisnartíma til rómantíkur, bæði með útgáfu fjögurra diska hjá Querstand og með tónleikahaldi. Þá mun hann ritstýra nótnaútgáfu á því efni fyrir Kamprad Editions Group. Áhugi hans á útgáfu vandaðra nótna með gamalli tónlist varð til þess að hann stofnaði „Vox de Caelo” þar sem hann hefur gert flutningsvænar útgáfur aðgengilegar.
Helstu áhrifamenn í lífi Ercoles sem tónlistarmanns eru Abbie Conant (nútímabásúnuleikari) og Wim Becu (barokkbásúnuleikari) sem voru kennarar hans í tónlistarskólanum í Trossongen. Á milli þess sem hann nam við þann skóla og kom aftur að forntónlistardeildinni sem kennari, lék hann með Orchestra sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi undir stjórn Riccardos Chailly.
Ercole Nisini has a passion for the sound and the Music of the Renaissance and Baroque eras. Using original or authentic copies of historic instruments he research and performs the repertoire of the 16th – 18th century.
In particular he has returned to original documents that reveal the playing techniques of trombonists of the past.
He has since 2004 led his own ensemble Instrumenta musica, which specializes in vocal and instrumental music of the late Renaissance and early Baroque. Since its inception Instrumenta musica has performed in numerous festivals and concert venues such as Dresden’s Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche), the Lower Saxony Music Festival, the Black Forest Music Festival, the Rheingau festival, and this year the Skálholt Summer Concerts in Iceland. 2008 saw the ensemble’s first CD (on the Ramée label) entitled O vos amici mei carissimi – Motets and Canzonas from Monteverdi’s Venice that featured Italian sacred and secular music by Carlo Filago and Giovanni Battista Riccio. In 2009 Ercole ledInstrumenta musica through a project that explored court music from Dresden that was composed by a group of Italians (A. Scandello, G.B. Pinello, C. Farina) active there 1550-1620. Beyond two concerts and a CD, Ercole also developed a three-day workshop with this repertoire for other early music performers with his colleagues Monika Mauch and Prof. Uta Schmidt.
His latest Cd „In Dulci Jubilo – a Saxon Late Renaissance Christmas“ (Querstand label) was successfully acclamed by the listners and the medias.
Ercole”s latest project will be to present the trombone from the renaissance, baroque, classic and romantic periods in a soloistic wayin concert and as four CD productions by the Label Querstand. An editedmusic edition of the recorded repertoire will bepublished by the Kamprad Editions Group (www.querstand.de) and will be available separately.
Ercole Nisini has participated in numerous concerts, recordings, and broadcasts of early music throughout Europe with famous ensembles such as La Petite Bande, Marini Consort Innsbruck, Capriccio Stravagante, Weser Renaissance Bremen, Musica Fiata, and Oltremontano.
His interest in quality editions of early music (especially involving the trombone) led him to found Vox de Caelo where he has created performance-ready editions of early music.
Among his most important influences are Abbie Conant (modern trombone) and Wim Becu (sagbutt) who were his professors at the conservatory in Trossingen. Between his initial study at Trossingen and his return to its Early Music Institute, he performed with the Orchestra sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi under the baton of Riccardo Chailly.
